Since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 2002, the legal framework is quite developed. It is governed by the following agreements:
- Agreement on the Promotion and Protection of Investments, signed in Mondego bay (Jamaica), on February 20, 1999, entered into force on July 20, 2001;
- Convention between the Government of the Republic of Senegal and the Government of Malaysia for the avoidance of double taxation and the prevention of tax evasion with respect to taxes on income, signed on February 17, 2012 in Dakar, ratified by Senegal February 17, 2016.
- Agreement between the Ministry of the Interior and the company IRIS Corporation for the production of digitized passports, signed on September 3, 2007;
- Memorandum of Understanding between Gaindé 2.000 and Dagang Nexchange Corporation, signed on July 15, 2015
- Memorandum of Understanding between the Malaysian External Trade Develop Corporation (Agency in charge of the Promotion and Development of Foreign Trade) and the Senegalese Agency for the Promotion of Exports (ASEPEX) of Senegal. Matrade, signed on July 26, 2016;
- Memorandum of Partnership between the employers’ organizations of Senegal (CNP, CNES, UNACOIS, MEDS, GES) and the Malaysian African Professionals Entrepreneurs (MAPE), signed on July 26, 2016,
- Six [6] projects under negotiation in the fields of higher education, judiciary and economic, scientific and cultural cooperation.
